Chelsea Townhouse Project
Charlotte Säve, London 2025

This mural was commissioned by the Swedish interior designer, Charlotte Säve, for the Chelsea Townhouse project she designed.

Elli worked with Charlotte to design a tonal scenic mural in vibrant greens which would work within the space to add warmth and depth to the setting. An English oak tree features in one corner of the room, with a silver birch and a pine tree on the other side. Native trees which would not look out of place in the English countryside were chosen, while giving a subtle nod to the Scandinavian landscape. The foliage extends up over the cornicing and ceiling in areas to achieve harmony in the space – a feature that is unique to bespoke murals which cannot be achieved with traditional wall coverings.

Behind the mural

Ludwig Bemelmans-inspired
playroom mural
Private client, London 2025

This mural was inspired by the work of the Austrian-American writer and illustrator, Ludwig Bemelmans. Well-known for creating the "Madeline" picture books, Bemelmans completed an iconic series of murals during the late 1940s in the bar of the Carlyle Hotel. His work has inspired numerous interior designers and artists in recent times.

Elli was commissioned to create a whimsical playroom mural in the style of Bemelmans, but telling the clients' story across the walls. Each scene is unique to the clients, paying homage to the places special to them – from Venice, to Naples, Tuscany, Milan and London. The scenes feature family members, pets, family businesses and heritage, designed to transform the space into a truly special and personal place to grow and play.

Woodland Play Area
 Aflux Designs, London 2026

Commissioned by Aflux Designs, the brief was to create a cosy woodland corner to provide the backdrop for children's climbing and play apparatus affixed to the wall and ceiling in this London home. Elli was asked to transform the space with illustration-like woodland animals and leaves cascading over the ceiling. Tree and foliage were painted in muted colours in a variety of tones to create the illusion of depth in this cosy corner.

Charlie Mackesy-inspired mural
Private client, London 2025

This mural was inspired by the much-loved children's book "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse" by Charlie Mackesy, a story about friendship, love, kindness and the courage to be vulnerable.

Elli was commissioned to recreate "the wild" wintry landscape providing the setting to the story, incorporating the clients' three-year-old-daughter with the animal characters, in the nook in her bedroom.
